The bright lights of Christmas just got sparklier as Hampshire heritage railway The Watercress Line announces the return of its Steam Illuminations this festive season, with a reimagined experience for 2026 featuring immersive entertainment, enhanced light displays and even more onboard fun.

Famous for Britain’s Got Talent and X-Factor, ‘Voiceover Man’ returns as host and, new for 2026, the Disco Ball Alley will make its debut. At the summit of your journey, be mesmerised by the upgraded, and extended, Snow Light Cascade. Each ticket includes an LED wristband that lights up in sync with the light show – and it's yours to take home.

Launching from 27 November, trains depart from Alresford and Alton stations in Hampshire, and the full experience lasts one hour 45 minutes.
