New Lanark Mills World Heritage Site, the unique 18th century Scottish cotton spinning mill village set alongside the picturesque River Clyde about an hour south of Glasgow, has introduced a new refreshment option giving groups the opportunity to eat, drink and enjoy a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

‘Meal Stop – New Lanark Mills’ has been designed to appeal to group travel organisers, coach operators and tour planners on a tight schedule. It offers an alternative to the usual motorway or other refreshment and meal stop-offs.

Pre-booked groups will be able to choose from an ‘Express’ one-hour meal option, a longer 90-minute option, or a more leisurely visit. The options add to New Lanark Mills’ existing catering options for groups visiting for a day or a half day.

The new ‘Meal Stop’ options can be taken in the Mill One restaurant at the 4-star New Lanark Mill Hotel, or in the Mill Café, depending on specific requirements.

Commenting on the new refreshment options, Lynne Cooper, group travel trade manager, says “While ideally we would like more groups to come and spend a day or a half day with us, we recognise that many tour itineraries simply don’t have the time to spare. ‘Meal Stop – New Lanark Mills’ offers a convenient way for groups to come and have lunch or afternoon tea, and see a little of what makes New Lanark Mills World Heritage Site such a special place. We’re only 20 minutes from the main M74 motorway, going north or south, so we’re inviting coach operators travelling between England and Scotland to consider us as a rather special and memorable alternative to the usual meal stops.”
