Greatdays Travel Group has launched ‘Don’t Panic’, a new entertainment overnight package for groups that features a themed comedy tribute to the Home Guard in the style of the popular BBC TV series Dad’s Army.

This is the first time the package has been offered as a short break by a group travel wholesaler. The two or three day package is based at the Best Western Royal Clifton Hotel in Southport and includes dinner, bed and breakfast and the ‘Don’t Panic’ show.

Described as a “light-hearted sing-along, laugh-along slapstick comedy show”, ‘Don’t Panic’ is a variety tribute show set during the Second World War. The themed evening show features all the favourite characters from the TV series with plenty of opportunities to join in with songs from the 1940s.

The Best Western Royal Clifton Hotel Southport provides the ideal base from which to explore Southport’s many attractions, including Lord Street, the world-famous Victorian-canopied shopping street, the famous pier (the second longest in the country), RSPB Martin Mere and historic Churchtown. Greatdays can also arrange itineraries to include visits to Blackpool, Lytham St Anne’s and Liverpool.

Commenting on the new package, Paul Beaumont, Greatdays executive director, says: “Throughout the year we run a series of themed entertainment lunches. This new ‘Don’t Panic’ package adds to that programme and offers a two or three-day package that combines first-class entertainment and sightseeing. The entire evening will be 1940s-themed and we want our guests to enter into the wartime spirit and dress up in period costumes.”

Southport has won a number of awards for its group-friendly ‘Southport Welcome’ and has a dedicated secure coach park offering peace of mind for coach operators and group travel organisers. Find out more at www.greatdays.co.uk
