Join Heritage Lincolnshire and the Friends of Bolingbroke Castle as they team up with the Plantagenet Society to bring you a weekend to remember…

Held from 20-21st August 2022 at Bolingbroke Castle near Spilsby in Lincolnshire, see the arming of the King's knights, learn about the traditional sport of falconry and witness the horsemen on their war horses practicing their martial skills, before battle commences as armed fighters will vie for your support and the King's favour.

Charlotte Davey, Sites Manager at Heritage Lincolnshire, saysL “Bolingbroke Castle is a fantastic setting for a living history event, and it has so much history within the stones of the ruin. Despite being the birthplace of King Henry IV, many local people don’t realise that we have such a historically significant castle, right in the heart of the county.”

Hannah Thompson, Business Manager at Heritage Lincolnshire, adds: “After a smaller successful event last year, we’re returning to a more flexible day out, where you can move around the site, interacting with lots of amazing displays set around the wider shows on offer. There will be knights showing off their skills in the full-contact combat tournament, as well as demonstrations and opportunities for visitors to have a go and make some amazing memories.”
