The tourism body Discover Newmarket has unveiled the first of its 2026 series of ‘A Morning With’ trainer tours – which provide exclusive behind-the scenes access to the world of horseracing. For the first time ever, the series includes a visit to Freemason Lodge, the current yard of Kia Joorabchian’s Amo Racing and the childhood home of the legendary trainer Sir Henry Cecil.

This historic yard is now under the management of trainer Kevin Philippart De Foy who will personally lead the A Morning with Amo Racing & Kevin Philippart De Foy Tour.  This will include the opportunity to see the racehorses being put through their paces up on the Newmarket Gallops under their trainer’s watchful eye, and the chance to meet some of the staff.

Freemason Lodge Stables, located on Bury Road in Newmarket, was the renowned, long-term training base for 10-time British flat racing Champion Trainer Sir Michael Stoute until it was sold to Amo Racing last year. The beautiful yard, which has rarely been open to the public, stables 50 horses and has recently been restored to its former glory. The visit, the first since the restoration, includes a yard tour led by Kevin, followed by a morning visit to the Gallops and finishes with a hearty brunch at the National Horseracing Museum.

Price and Dates: The Amo Racing Yard Tours will run on Wednesday 18 March and Thursday 2 April 2026, departing from the National Horseracing Museum at 8.45am sharp, and costs £140pp.

Other exclusive 2026 trainer tours now available for booking include A Morning with William Haggas at Somerville Lodge, the seven-time winning trainer of the Classic Race and Royal racehorse trainer. This tour takes place on Thursday 30 April, 2026 and costs £140pp.

The National Stud

From March, Discover Newmarket will recommence its public tours of The National Stud - Newmarket’s historic breeding and education centre - with the opportunity to meet new resident mare and ‘living legend’ Kinross for the first time, as well as resident stallions Stradivarius and Bradsell and this season's mares and foals.

Trained by Ralph Beckett at Kimpton Down Stables, Kinross has a plethora of elite racing victories in the Group 1 Prix de la Forêt and Group 1 British Champions Sprint Stakes, alongside a host of other Group successes and placings in some of the world’s most prestigious sprints and miles. Few horses have maintained such a level of excellence and consistency over so many seasons, with lifetime earnings just shy of £2million.

Price and DatesNational Stud Tours run every Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holiday Mondays between March and September and cost £16.50 per adult and £6.50 for children age 5-16 years.
