One of Britain’s top seaside resorts is gearing up for a special tourism and group event. The Southport Group Travel Day – on Monday 24th April – kicks off with an exhibition from 10am at the Bliss Hotel; after lunch, buyers will embark on a showcase tour of some of the top attractions in and around the town.

Arranged by Visit Southport – https://www.visitsouthport.com/ – in conjunction with travel trade specialists Steve Reed Tourism Ltd, the event will feature a mini exhibition of local and regional attractions in the morning and a coach tour and fam trip around some of Southport’s main tourist sites in the afternoon.

The exhibition features a number of tourism businesses, including The Bold Hotel, Lord Street Hotel, Southport Flower Show and Victoria Park, Green Sefton, Rufford Old Hall, the unique Lawnmower Museum, Formby Hall and Knowsley Safari Park.

This FREE event will showcase many of the resort’s key group attractions, such as Churchtown Botanical Gardens, Lord Street, the Atkinson Art Gallery and Museum, Southport Pier and Martin Mere Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust. Some delegates who choose to stay overnight during the event may wish to see some of the attractions further afield, such as Anthony Gormley’s ‘Another Place’ artworks on Crosby beach and the Formby Red Squirrels Reserve.

The event will commence at the Bliss Hotel at 10am and conclude after the fam coach tour at 5pm. The set piece will be captured on film by Eastwood Media of North Wales – https://www.eastwood-media.co.uk/ – who, working with Steve Reed Tourism, will distribute the finished short film to the UK travel trade.

Coach operators will also be given the opportunity to stay overnight with a special rate provided by local hotels. Any coach and tour operators and GTOs wishing to attend this event should email steve@stevereedtourism.co.uk with details of the attendees, name of organisation and contact information. Places are limited and subject to eligibility and availability. Maximum two delegates per organisation.
