STC FAVOURITES

Among the most famous – and most recognisable – attractions in the Alps is the Jungfraujoch aka the ‘Top of Europe,’ which boasts a thrilling journey up, with plenty of attractions at the summit that draws thousands of visitors daily. One of STC’s favourite excursions for groups, the Schilthorn offers the best views of the Jungfrau, preceded by the Mönch and iconic Eiger.

Ticino: Grotto Val Resa

The Schilthorn provides a fascinating day out, with its breathtaking panoramas from the revolving restaurant, and Bond World 007, which is perfect for film buffs. A key feature to many group itineraries is the world-famous Glacier Express, consisting of a scenic rail journey, with magnificent vistas changing at every twist and turn. Watch as snow-capped peaks and majestic glaciers suddenly part to reveal gushing waterfalls and breathtaking views over deep valleys, with a sheer rock face suddenly falling into the deep blue lakes and winding rivers below. At STC, we give groups a true taste of what it is to be Swiss. We have created special experiences exclusively for groups, from cooking risotto in the Ticino or making your own chocolate in one of the finest boutiques in the country. Alternatively, spend a day on a farm discovering agricultural traditions with local farmers. You can even stay the night if you are feeling adventurous.

How To Plan Your Trip

  • Booking direct may seem like the best option, but it is time consuming and you often won’t get the best deal
  • Plan ahead – the most popular resorts get booked over a year in advance
  • Be flexible – if you don’t set exact dates, you’re less likely to receive great deals
  • Identify what you want, not where you want it. There are lots of hidden gems in Switzerland just waiting to be discovered, and often the best places for activities are located off the beaten track

SWITZERLAND WORKSHOPS
To find out more about how to plan your next group departure to Switzerland, visit the STC office in Covent Garden for its Switzerland Workshop. Switzerland Workshop lasts for four hours and includes lunch.

Lenk Simmental: AlpKultur- Alpabfahrt

“The Workshop I attended was extremely informative and also inspiring. The presentations gave practical guidance about the ease of organising a group tour through Switzerland Travel Centre, especially the efficient train travel possibilities and luggage transportation. It was a pleasant surprise to hear about the regional passes available and the access to much free travel and reduced admission with these.” – Sue Povey, GTOA Southern Branch

STC’s next Switzerland Workshop will be held on October 8, 2015 – to register, email groups@stc.co.uk or call 020 7420 4903.
