Keith Brown has joined the Tourism Society as its Chief Executive. A highly respected and innovative senior executive with extensive experience in the hospitality and tourism sectors, he takes up the post with immediate effect.

Keith was previously Chief Executive of Visit East of England Tourism and remains a Board Director of the organisation. Prior to this he held Marketing Director positions at both Hilton Group plc and Thistle Hotels plc. Keith succeeds Tourism Society Board Director Mike Bugsgang who has been acting as Interim Chief Executive whilst a permanent replacement for the job was recruited.

With a proven track record in the delivery of commercial results, Keith has created award winning marketing programmes and managed highly cost effective tactical campaigns. His expertise in strategic planning and passion for managing process change and business recovery programmes will be invaluable in his new role.

Commenting on the appointment, Tourism Society Chairman, Kevin Kaley, says: “Having Keith on board with his wealth of experience in the tourism sector will be hugely beneficial to the Society. His input on the implementation of our new strategy and operational model will make a considerable difference as we move forward.”
