The Tourism Society is seeking a new Chief Executive following the end of the incumbent, Cheryl McCain’s, contract term. Board Director, Mike Bugsgang, will act as interim Chief Executive while a replacement is sought. Ms McCain is leaving to pursue consultancy opportunities in the USA and Europe.

Tourism Society Chairman, Kevin Kaley, said: “We are grateful to Cheryl for her work over the past year in keeping the Society’s strategy on track and we wish her well in her new role. The Board is now planning for the future and is seeking an experienced, self-motivated individual to work as part-time Chief Executive to help the Society deliver a new operational model.

“Tourism Society Board Director, Mike Bugsgang, has a great deal of experience in managing trade associations. His most recent role was Chief Executive of the Association of Group Travel Organisers (AGTO). We are therefore delighted that he has agreed to assist while we recruit a new Chief Executive.”

The next major event in the Society’s calendar is the President’s Annual Dinner at the House of Lords on 3 July 2019, see www.tourismsociety.org
