Watts Gallery – Artists’ Village has won the 2018 Tourist Destination of the Year Award in the Surrey Business Awards.
At a gala ceremony held at Epsom Racecourse last month, judges commended the gallery’s programme of exhibitions and installations, and cited the way the organisation has fostered relationships with business across the county as key to winning the award.
The awards, in association with the Surrey Chamber of Commerce, recognise achievement across a wide range of sectors reflecting the diversity of the county’s economy. For the Tourist Destination of the Year category, entrants needed to demonstrate that they are developing and enhancing the visitor experience in Surrey.
Founded over 100 years ago to provide ‘Art for All’, Watts Gallery – Artists’ Village is a registered charity, which welcomes more than 65,000 visitors each year and engages more than 28,000 participants annually in its pioneering education programme.
