Theatre Royal Plymouth is to stage the world premiere of Another Place. The production, by leading playwright DC Moore, will open on November 10, with previews from November 6, and tells the story of our obsession to uncover the secrets of space.
It tells the story through Paul, a specialist in cognitive behaviour, tasked with designing a 20-year mission to Mars; Daniel, a husband and new father struggling with the reality of marriage and the monotony of everyday life; Nat, a twin sister, disillusioned by the world’s obsession with space travel and sorry that she didn’t say goodbye, and Amy, who asks a lot of questions.
It’s directed by Jo McInnes, who has worked extensively as an actress in film, television and in theatre. The Theatre Royal Plymouth has built a reputation for its specialist contemporary work producing provocative, ambitious theatre by commissioning and working with some of the best regional, national and international writers, artists and directors. Another Place runs at The Drum, Theatre Royal Plymouth from November 6-22, 2014, and tickets are priced at £14.70 (concessions £10.70).
