The Manx Museum, House of Mannanan and Manx National Heritage Offices on the Isle of Man will re-open at midday today (Friday 10 March, 2023).

This – rather fitting image given the current snow conditions – shows Waterloo Road in Ramsey during the great snow of 1895. The snowfall was the heaviest that the island had ever experienced, the effects of which were intensified when the wind increased, causing deep drifts and imprisoning people in their homes.
