Longleat Safari Park in Wiltshire has announced its 2020 line-up of events, shows and festivals…
Mini Safari: Easter 2020: An exciting new permanent addition to our Astonishing Kingdom; a miniature Safari Drive-through, specially designed for young explorers, will open during spring 2020. The new attraction will feature mini Land Rover Defenders complete with iconic Longleat zebra striped camouflage. Children aged 3 and up will get the opportunity to show the adults how to drive on safari. Each truck is powered by an electric motor and the children are free to negotiate the track and its obstacles as they drive past a variety of animal exhibits.
Food & Music Festival: 4th & 5th July 2020: Longleat’s early-summer Food & Drink Festival has had a spectacular makeover for 2020. Following on from the success of 2019’s live musical accompaniments to the sumptuous food and drinks offering, in 2020 even more extraordinary live music acts will be gracing the stage. Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th July will feature the bustling Market Street of delicious food and drink stalls to tantalise your senses, as well as celebrity chef demonstrations, Viscountess Weymouth’s Luxury Afternoon Teas and whimsical summertime activities. In addition, each evening, including an opening party night on Friday 3rd will see artists taking to the stage with the stunning Longleat House and Estate as the backdrop. Access to the evening music offer will be by additional charge. Each day’s line-up will be announced closer to the event, so watch this space!
Fireworks nights: 29th to 31st October 2020: In astonishing style, we’ll be bidding farewell to the Main Season with extravagant fireworks nights. Sky Safari: 11th to 13th September 2020: From 11th to 13th September our very own hot air balloon festival returns! The biggest annual hot air balloon festival in Europe will be bigger, bolder and balloon-ier than ever. During the September weekend the skies above the Estate will come to life with all the vibrant colours of the rainbow as countless hot air balloons take to the air in an astounding procession of finesse. Followed on Friday and Saturday evenings by a stunning night glow set to music – a sight not to be missed!
The Festival of Light: Selected dates from 7th November 2020 to 3rd January 2021: Longleat’s winter wouldn’t be complete without the renowned Festival of Light, which is confirmed to return for its seventh year in 2020. The illuminating lantern spectacle will see hundreds of silk-strewn scenes and digital installations embellishing the ornate Longleat Estate once more, bringing the spirit of the festive season to lustrous light. As part of the Festival of Light, on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day there will be spectacular fireworks displays lighting up the evening sky.
