Visit Leicester will be attending the British Tourism and Travel Show on Thursday 19 March 2026 at the NEC, Birmingham to showcase experiences group travel organisers won’t find anywhere else. The brand-new Visit Leicester Group Travel Guide will be unveiled at the show to highlight the major sites in Leicester and Leicestershire for group travel visitors.
Meet the Visit Leicester team on Stand F42 at the show where they will be joined by colleagues from Discover Melton, Visit Harborough, King Richard III Visitor Centre, Jewry Wall, Great Central Railway and Belvoir Castle, at Britain and Ireland’s leading group travel trade event. Attendees will discover the very best bookable attractions that Leicester and Leicestershire have to offer, including new regional food and drink experiences, unique heritage attractions and guided tours suitable for groups of all types and sizes.
Leicester’s newest attraction takes visitors back 2,000 years at Jewry Wall – A Real Roman Experience. This brand-new attraction combines one of the largest surviving Roman structures in Britain with state of the art immersive and interactive displays to take visitors on a compelling journey into Roman life in Leicester. There are unique artefacts to discover including mosaics, jewellery, glassware, pottery, armour, grooming sets and dog footprints!
Leicester is the only city to find a king in a car park, and this discovery led to the greatest lost and found story ever told, which can be booked at the award-winning King Richard III Visitor Centre. The centre has continued to evolve since opening in 2015 and guests can now enjoy a digital display that reconstructs the scene in August 1485 when King Richard III’s remains were carried into the Greyfriars Friary and laid to rest in a hastily cut grave. The display shows visitors a detailed reconstruction of how the site of Richard’s burial has changed over half a millennium. The most recent addition to this fascinating story is the Voice of Richard Project, a new interactive feature where visitors can see and hear what King Richard III is believed to have sounded like, brought to life through advanced scientific research.
Belvoir Castle will also be on the Visit Leicester stand to talk to visitors about the beauty of the Castle, where they can learn about the rare treasures and the impressive painting collection, walk in the footsteps of past Dukes and Duchesses, and explore opulent Regency interiors. Groups can also discover the lost work of Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown in the formal gardens and parkland on a variety of walks and trails.
As the birthplace of popular tourism, Leicester still offers the chance to follow in the footsteps of travel pioneer Thomas Cook as groups can take a trip on a heritage steam train at Great Central Railway. They will be at the show to share details of all the events and experiences they offer groups from murder mystery evenings to fish & chips and first-class dining.
