Visit South Devon has unveiled a brand new group travel itinerary celebrating the region’s thriving vineyards, distilleries and breweries, offering visitors a taste-led journey through one of England’s most exciting food and drink destinations. Designed specifically for group travel organisers, coach operators and special interest travel groups, the new itinerary showcases South Devon’s award-winning producers alongside immersive tasting experiences, hands-on workshops and spectacular coastal and countryside settings.

From crafting rum beside the harbour in Salcombe to sampling English sparkling wine overlooking the River Dart, the itinerary highlights the growing reputation of South Devon as a destination for authentic, locally rooted food and drink tourism.

South Devon is already renowned for its rolling countryside, dramatic coastline and farm-to-table dining scene, but the new itinerary shines a spotlight on the region’s flourishing craft drinks industry and the memorable experiences available for groups. Featured experiences include:

  • Coastal rum tastings and rum-making workshops at the Devon Rum Company in Salcombe
  • Gin school experiences and guided tastings with Exeter Gin
  • Award-winning English wine tastings at Lyme Bay Winery
  • Vineyard safaris and tutored wine experiences at Sandridge Barton Wines overlooking the Dart Valley
  • Guided beer tastings at Salcombe Brewery Tap House

The itinerary has been created to offer flexible and engaging experiences for a wide range of groups, from social clubs and affinity groups to premium coach tours and food and drink enthusiasts.

Jo Butler, General Manager at Visit South Devon said: “South Devon’s food and drink scene has evolved into something truly special, with passionate independent producers creating experiences that are personal, authentic and deeply connected to the landscape. This new itinerary gives groups the opportunity to discover the people, stories and places behind some of the region’s most exciting wines, spirits and beers.”

Unlike larger commercial visitor attractions, many of South Devon’s producers offer intimate hosted tastings led by the makers themselves, giving visitors direct insight into the craft, heritage and local influences behind every bottle and brew.

The itinerary also highlights the region’s suitability for year-round group travel, with many venues offering indoor tasting facilities, guided tours and tailored group packages. The new “Vineyards, Distilleries and Breweries in South Devon” itinerary is available now as part of Visit South Devon’s dedicated group travel programme.
